The South African President announced a 21-day lockdown last night in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19. Afric Oil supports President Ramaphosa’s call for the lockdown as a decisive measure to save South Africans from infections and save the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
This call inherently requires business and civil society to significantly scale down activities, economically and otherwise. As a result, our business may also be affected.
In accordance with government guidelines, Afric Oil will remain open for business in our capacity as a fuel supplier to businesses that provide essential services to both government and private sectors. Our customer facing personnel are already working remotely and will continue to be available to process your orders timeously. We have all the systems and contingencies in place to remain your partner during these unprecedented times.
Our suppliers and partners have also assured us of their ability to provide an uninterrupted supply for the foreseeable future.
We take our role very seriously as a partner in government’s effort to ensure a stable, national fuel supply. We will thus not support stockpiling of product by any customer. Please order only what you need. Our pricing will also remain in line with agreed pricing before the onset of the current crisis as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The economy will be taking strain across all sectors and liquidity may become an issue for many businesses in the near future. We appeal to you to be mindful of paying your accounts on time to ensure that everyone in the supply chain can continue to deliver the products and services to you.
We continue to monitor developments closely, and we will ensure that our customers remain informed of any potential changes. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Please take care and be safe.
